First Bilingual Preparatory School recognizes and respects the uniqueness of each child. Established in 1989, the school”s primary mission is to foster a love of learning in each student. Our curriculum skillfully weaves artistic, practical and technological disciplines into everyday academics. Students learn to follow their curiosity, to think creatively, and to work both independently and cooperatively with others. FBPS is committed to the highest standard of academic excellence; we dedicate ourselves to provide the best possible education for our students by developing knowledge, character, confidence and skills essential for lifelong learning.
Educating a community is a very important task. Our philosophy is to carry out an educational program in which the child does not see himself / herself as only an object or a vessel where a school system deposits all its knowledge. We believe that learning should not be mechanically imposed; it is to nurture the development of responsible, thoughtful citizens for life in today’s society. Our learning environment is one where students are challenged to explore, to create, to make decisions and to actively participate in and be accountable for their learning. Our education is directed towards promoting a child’s ability to be a thinker, a doer, and to have the capacity to know and transform his or her environment.
PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES
First Bilingual Preparatory School has developed an excellent bilingual education program, which encompasses the most modern learning requirements and objectives established.
The purpose of the program is to provide an optimum bilingual education with an emphasis on teaching in English, and Spanish as a course of study. We offer the child the opportunity to develop all the basic skills necessary for learning that will provide a better and harmonious transition to any other school or school system.
Our objective is to promote creativity and engagement in all activities which will prepare students to be critical thinkers, problem solvers and independent. Their decisions and experiences here will help to develop an analytical mind, and instill respect for all living beings and their environment. To understand that we share the planet, and although separated by geographical distances we are not isolated, rather interrelated.
